| Romans 8:26-27
The Spirit, too,
comes to help us in our weakness. For when we cannot choose words
in order to pray properly, the Spirit Himself expresses our plea in a way
that could never be put into words, and God who knows everything in our
hearts knows perfectly well what he means, and that the pleas of the saints
expressed by the Spirit are according to the mind of God.
I accepted Jesus
as my Savior when I was five years old and have spent the rest of my life
learning, with each day, something new about the Greatness of the Savior
of my soul, my Abba, the greatest love of my life.
Though my family
and I suffered both hardship and personal loss, I knew, throughout my childhood
the protection of His Holy Spirit, and as I grew into adulthood, I learned
to glorify Him in my heart.
In the days of
my childhood, I would visit my grandmother, and listen to the wind in the
pine forest across the road from her home. My family remembers me
asking them if that sound was the Holy Spirit, as I began to try to grasp
the Presence of God in my life. The “Song of the Holy Spirit” is
a tribute to this Presence. It continues to be in my times of greatest
emptiness that He fills my heart and uses me to glorify our Heavenly Father.
This awesome Spirit unites us, the Body of Christ, as we grow, learn, serve,
praise and pray together as a family around His Table.
In the following
Lyrics, I pray that God will continue to use me, and my brothers and sisters
in Christ, as vessels to carry this Spirit, and The Gospel of Christ, to
the world. We need never worry if we feel tired, or physically incapable
of doing what He asks of us, for the Holy Spirit is our teacher and advocate,
and Christ is our strength.
